Modern Slavery Statement
Removal Van Harrow Modern Slavery Statement
Removal Van Harrow is committed to conducting its business in a responsible and ethical manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to identify, address, and prevent any risk of modern slavery, and to protect the rights and dignity of all individuals who may be impacted by our activities.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all areas of our business, including the provision of removal, storage, and associated services, as well as to our suppliers, contractors, and any third parties that support our operations. Modern slavery in any form is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
All employees, agency staff, and contractors working for or on behalf of Removal Van Harrow are expected to act with integrity and in line with our values. Any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment or contract, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Audits
Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, equipment, cleaning and maintenance services, and other business support services. We understand that risks of modern slavery can arise at different points in these supply chains, particularly where work is low-skilled, outsourced, or subcontracted.
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our standards on human rights and ethical conduct. Before entering into business relationships, we consider the supplier’s location, type of service or product, and known risk factors related to labour practices.
Where appropriate, we carry out proportionate supplier audits and checks. These may include reviewing relevant policies, requesting information on labour practices, and, where feasible, conducting site visits. If we identify concerns or potential risks, we will seek clarification, request corrective actions, or, if necessary, suspend or terminate the relationship. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with any reasonable requests for information about their own supply chains.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, workers, and suppliers to report any suspected case of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business. Concerns can be raised confidentially through our internal reporting channels, including direct reporting to line managers or senior management, and use of our established whistleblowing procedures.
We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of raising a genuine concern in good faith. Reports will be investigated promptly and fairly, with appropriate actions taken where issues are identified. This may involve engaging with the affected individuals, working with suppliers to resolve issues, or notifying the relevant authorities if criminal activity is suspected.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibility
We aim to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff. Relevant employees may receive guidance on identifying warning signs, understanding our policies, and knowing how to report concerns. Managers have a responsibility to promote ethical conduct, support staff who raise concerns, and ensure compliance with this statement.
Responsibility for our overall approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Removal Van Harrow, who oversee policy development, risk assessment, and the review of our practices.
Monitoring and Annual Review
We are committed to continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery within our operations and supply chains. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once a year, or sooner if there are significant changes to our business, our supply chains, or relevant legislation. As part of this review, we will reflect on any issues raised, audit findings, and feedback from employees and suppliers to strengthen our approach.
This statement is approved by the management of Removal Van Harrow and represents our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and protecting human rights in all aspects of our business.
